Good News for the UK Market…

As of Tuesday 12th 2020 the government have eased the guidelines on estate agents and have brought us out of the current lockdown situation to start Wednesday 13th 2020. Due to the nature of the business we have been able to react quickly to the new guidelines as for us it has been business as usual throughout the lockdown period.

So what has changed? the legislation has provided the following updates below for estate agents..

(l) to undertake any of the following activities in connection with the purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property—

(i) visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes;

(ii) viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent;

(iii) preparing a residential property to move in;

(iv) moving home;

(v) visiting a residential property to undertake any activities required for the rental or sale of that property

The above points mean estate agents can trade as “normal”, we will have steps implemented to prevent spread of the virus when it comes to valuations and we will be advising vendors/applicants. In terms of viewings for occupied residents, we all will need to adhere to the below guidelines.

1) Stay Alert! – social distancing must be adhered to all times.

2) Two applicants or less at anytime, anyone who is vulnerable will be advised to not view as will anyone who is showing symptoms of Covid19.

3) PPE should be worn where available.
